Happy New Year and new Winter Layout Class

As 2015 comes near a close, I want to take a moment to be thankful for everything I've been able to accomplish this year with the love and support of my family and friends.

In the scrapbooking world, I vended at 19 weekends in 2015, learned how to Art Journal with Dina Wakley and brought gesso, paint, and further creativity into the scrapbooking space, as well as bring great Tim Holtz products to you (distress color of the month), and brought you 33 classes.  (Phew!  No wonder I was tired, lol!)

On a personal note, as I close out the year, I have had the most amazing opportunity earlier this month to learn about myself, my relationship with others, our connected-ness to our work places and communities, and ultimately learned more about how we are all connected in some manner or another, which I am tremendously grateful for.  You will either get this or think I've gone off the deep end, but either way, I am ending the year content and happy.

As we begin our journey into 2016 and beyond, I'd like to take a moment to wish you a Happy New Year and health, happiness, and lots of memorable moments that you will be able to capture in your scrapbooks!

And now, onto something completely different......

Below is the new Winter 2 Page Layout that I have created for the crops I will be vending at in January and February.  The cost is $12 per person.  I will continue to also offer the Animal Art Journal page as well for $15 (see earlier post for pictures).  Hope you see you soon at one of the crops and hope you will sign up for a class or two with me!

Art Journaling

So, while I've been creating a crafting space for myself and my mental health, I've also become obsessively fascinated by Art Journaling.  It's probably no surprise to you since you may know how much I love Tim Holtz and using his Distress products, but it's been a bit of a surprise to me.  I feel like I'm getting to know myself again through my interest in mixed media and exploring creativity outside of the bounds of my geometric scrapbooking style.  Yes, I like straight lines and geometry, so coloring and making stuff up just to try it feels a bit risky to me at times, but I'm finding I'M LOVING IT!!!!  This is my first couple of pages in my new Dylusions art journal.  What do you think?

Making time for crafting

I was at a crop last weekend and realized that I never scrapbook for myself anymore, but even worse, I don't have time to prep for choosing what I want to work on when I go away for the weekend and it made me really sad.  So, when I got home from the weekend, I spent some time organizing my craft space at home (bonus room above a 2 car garage) and spent a few evenings actually finishing pages that I had started.  It was a fantastic feeling!  I vowed to myself to make sure I take time every day - 5 min, 10 min, an hour, whatever it might be to do SOMETHING crafty.  I can tell you that it has made me a happy person and I feel so much better about not having scrapbooked in a while!

2015 Winter 2 Page Layout Class!

Hi everyone!  2015 is here and so is a new class!  We use the Bo Bunny Altitude paper line for this one and Ranger's Distress Paint!  I fell in love with this paper line immediately and knew I had to create a class with it.  Of course, I had to include my babies Twinkle and Thor in it, but it would work wonderfully with ski pictures or building snowmen, or just a plain old winter storm.  I hope you like it!  I'll be teaching it at Scrap-A-Way Mystic next weekend, Cool Crops Warwick at the end of the month, and Scrap-A-Way Warwick and Ready Set Crop in February.  Cost is $12 per person.
